A great example of Swarovski-style nature conservation is the 300-hectare island of Karsiborska Kepa in the northwest of Poland. A 180-hectare site was purchased for the Polish partner organisation, BirdLife. Consisting mainly of reed beds and wetland, this island in the northwest of Poland is a haven for the 114 different species confirmed so far. This is one of the last retreats for the globally threatened aquatic warbler.
