Biosphere Expeditions is a multi-award-winning not-for-profit conservation organisation offering hands-on wildlife expeditions as an adventure with a purpose for everyone.
Biosphere Expeditions’ citizen science is for people from all walks of life who want to help support and conserve the biosphere that we all live in. Biosphere Expeditions gives people a way to harness their enthusiasm and put it to good effect by coming to work on voluntourism projects simply using the money and time that they would have spent going on an ordinary holiday.
In 2009 Biosphere Expeditions was delighted to become one of a select few partners of Swarovski Optik. Since then Swarovski Optik has been instrumental to the running of many of Biosphere Expedition’s field projects such as lion & cheetah conservation in Namibia, snow leopard research in the Altai, Arabian leopard studies in Oman, jaguar & puma conservation in Brazil, work on wolves & lynx in Slovakia, and a climate change expedition in the Spanish Pyrenees.

Dr. Matthias Hammer, founder & Executive Director of Biosphere Expeditions, says "we are delighted to be part of Swarovski Optik's species and nature conservation sponsorship programme. In Swarovski Optik we have found an excellent global partner with an exemplary corporate conscience. Swarovski Optik is crucial in reducing our running and expedition costs by providing funding and equipment such as Swarovski binoculars, telescopes, range finders and night vision devices, so that we can divert more much-needed funds into local projects and people. Swarovski Optik's support also enables us to take our conservation expeditions to some of the most inhospitable and inaccessible places on Earth, and to support local scientists and conservation efforts with much needed and often invaluable optical devices. Finally, Swarovski Optik’s high quality devices give our volunteers stunning views, which enhances their experience as well as their ability to collect accurate data for our projects."
